Our thoughts on the design

The Thunderjaw is one of SerialBuilder's most iconic builds since it looks so accurate and commands an imposing presence in any display. All the elements of the beast including its weapons systems and radar are there as well as the gattling guns along the neck. It's a fun build and certainly the best version that's out there. We wish it was more self-standing or had an integrated base like the other big beasts to prop it up instead of the stand, but for a design like the Thunderjaw, the physics are a little hazy. As for the build, some panels can be a bit tighter or have a few extra studs for connection, but overall a really solid build that just looks as menacing as the one in-game.

Fixes we've made

Redesigned the neck panels for improved stability

For the original design, the neck panels were using single-stud attachments in some places which made them fairly fragile and would fall off from accidental knocks. We redesigned them completely to be sturdier whilst still keeping true to the original design as much as possible.

Severity: Medium

Added extra stability to the jaw elements

We improved the connection of the jaw elements as it original had a single stud attachment and would fall off it held from that part.

Severity: Low

Improved leg panels

Some leg panels featured too few attachment points which meant that they would more easily fall off if moving the model. We made a small update to make them a little sturdier and able to attach with more clutch power to the skeleton.

Severity: Low

Removed the stand

This is not quite a fix, since we don't recommend the model to be displayed in this way, but we updated the design to allow for the stand to be removed after the build has been completed.

Beast of a build

easy to follow instructions, i like the way new pieces are highlighted in the instructions

Most Surprising Thing

the length and size of this model, bag after bag longer and longer ( no pun intended) photos don't do it justice

What Can We Do Better?

the panels on the neck could be highlighted a bit better just for the connection points

Abso-freakin-lutely Fantastic Design

First of All, what an Amazing job on this set and holey moly. It's gigantic; larger than I expected and it barely fits on the shelf. It took me about 35h to complete and I loved every second of it. The attention to detail was truly amazing, but even more surprising was how robust the final build ended up being. With most Lego Sets of that Magnitude (Hulk buster, Star Destroyer,...) the build is usually flimsy and easily breakable. The only thing I wasn't happy with, was the armor plating. It was difficult to connect and some parts easily fall off when trying to move the tail.

Most Surprising Thing

How sturdy the build was and how much detail from the source material was included. Something I really liked about some of these bricks was that the b...

What Can We Do Better?

Apart from easier order, or sturdier builds of connecting flimsy parts such as the tail plating there is just one thing that could benefit from some m...

As the name THUDERJAW says Jawdropping

This beeing my first big build of the 3 I didn't know what I was getting my self into. Each day after work I had time for 1 or 2 beg nummers so it took me nearly a full week of building. Overall Look: - bigger then you first tink - no color poisining like Lego - clean look everything same colors (no 2 difrent whites for example) Build experience: Amazing experience first building the skeleton then attaching new and new components to it with each step was very cool. Most impressiv was the ammo chain for the mini/gattling guns on the head. With Lego you would never experience such a free moving step. My thoughts: Not getting to build it in one sitting is a better experience, the joy of comming home from a stressfull day and just relaxed building is amazing (there were steps more stressfull then a full work day but who cares ;)) Negative aspect: Unfortunaly there were some pices missing, some I could just use from the spares from steps before but also one piece miss molded. It can happen was a bit sad but as a first run and over thousends of bricks it's accaptable. This is a work in progress I would say we of the first run trying to help improve the experience for everyone. 4,5/5 Stars because pieces were missing or one miss moulded and some steps were a bit misleading because you couldn't clearly see how to put together the pieces In the pictures you can see how you progress through the build

Most Surprising Thing

The cheer length I played a lot of horizon so I know the Thunderjaw very well, but the size in "Lego" Bricks (Or Eastern bricks) is very impresive.

What Can We Do Better?

1. Step 256 & 263 when you mount the base for the future legs maybe giving a side profile so the Legs are directly the right way. For me I had to turn...

Very easy to follow instructions, and a wonderful design
