Our thoughts on the design

The Thunderjaw is one of SerialBuilder's most iconic builds since it looks so accurate and commands an imposing presence in any display. All the elements of the beast including its weapons systems and radar are there as well as the gattling guns along the neck. It's a fun build and certainly the best version that's out there. We wish it was more self-standing or had an integrated base like the other big beasts to prop it up instead of the stand, but for a design like the Thunderjaw, the physics are a little hazy. As for the build, some panels can be a bit tighter or have a few extra studs for connection, but overall a really solid build that just looks as menacing as the one in-game.

Fixes we've made

Redesigned the neck panels for improved stability

For the original design, the neck panels were using single-stud attachments in some places which made them fairly fragile and would fall off from accidental knocks. We redesigned them completely to be sturdier whilst still keeping true to the original design as much as possible.

Severity: Medium

Added extra stability to the jaw elements

We improved the connection of the jaw elements as it original had a single stud attachment and would fall off it held from that part.

Severity: Low

Improved leg panels

Some leg panels featured too few attachment points which meant that they would more easily fall off if moving the model. We made a small update to make them a little sturdier and able to attach with more clutch power to the skeleton.

Severity: Low

Removed the stand

This is not quite a fix, since we don't recommend the model to be displayed in this way, but we updated the design to allow for the stand to be removed after the build has been completed.

My second best model

I'm very happy with this model! All the parts were well packaged and complete, with nothing missing. The building process was enjoyable, the instructions were clear, and the finished model looks fantastic. I had a great time putting it together. Highly recommended!

Amazing build with a few small Issues

The build overall wasn't too difficult to manage and looks great, though there were some small issues. Firstly alot of the instructions when attaching the side plates was quite unclear, since you can't see where it's supposed to attach on the picture, it's not hard to figure out though just annoying, and the only other issue I had with it was that two of the pieces had minor moulding errors. Though considering the size of the set I'd say that's quite good.

Most Surprising Thing

The amount of detail and the sturdiness compared to the sawtooth and grazer I've completed so far.

Thunderjaw - What a beast !

It is hard to believe that this set only has a bit more than 4700 parts. Because it is so massive !!! Its so big it can only fit on the top of my shelf. This is a very good set. The building experience was insane. Im sad it is already over. Of course it is a bit repetitive, because of the symetry of the set, but i enjoyed every bag of it: the body, the cannons, the launchers, the tail. Thanks also for the support, im not going to try to balance it myself, the supprot does the job very well. This is not a set for beginners, there are some tricky connections.

Most Surprising Thing

The size !!!

What Can We Do Better?

- I struggled a bit with the mecanism of the launchers on the hips, but in the end, i managed to let them in the right orientation. - Its a bit sad t...

Absolutely fantastic.

This has honestly been the best build I have built to date. I have built a number of large on brand sets (Star Wars, LOTR, Jurassic Park, Icons) and this was so much more enjoyable to build and so much sturdier. I am a big fan of Horizon and this set is fantastic, makes me want to have another play through. Only 2 left from the creator series to build. Can't wait

Most Surprising Thing

It is so sturdy, I can move it around with no issues.
