Specter with official Lego pieces (sorry i couldnt wait)
I bought some official Lego pieces when they released the Specter instructions, as i couldnt wait to receive the Complete Edition. So i built it with instructions v1.0 It was a very good and fun build. The result is very good, and has good colors. I think it is the most accessible set for beginners. Because its easier to keep all the parts together than for the other ones. There is only one problem: its quite hard to balance if we want to display it the way it should. The back legs are not holding the weight of the body. Once i found the right display, i try to not touch it again.
Most Surprising Thing
The size! Its quite big for 400 pieces.
What Can We Do Better?
step 73-74 of the instructions - it was clear for me that the pieces had not enough space to fit at the front (because of the triangle shape piece). B...
So many tiles…
A decent build, with its fair share of issues. It was a good step up in difficulty from the grazer, while being a good stepping stone to the sawtooth. Lots of tiles were used, so it made the final build looks very sleek.
Most Surprising Thing
The legs hold the weight of the body well and have strong joints. The tail gives it lots of character, and the build looks like the machine in game.
What Can We Do Better?
This build once again runs into the issue of having grills barely attached and at risk of falling off. On the front legs there is a mistake in the ins...
Tricky Build with Awesome Outcome
Tricky Build. Parts that are attached to just a single stud keep falling off. Adjusting the legs and so on also takes a bit of fiddling around, especially with several parts having come loose. But all in all, it’s a really cool model that looks great. I built the set using Lego bricks, as the Complete Edition doesn’t include enough bricks for the Specter and it’s going to take over a month to arrive anyway.
Most Surprising Thing
The Final Model looks freaking Awesome!
What Can We Do Better?
In step 34, a 1x2 plate is used, which hangs in mid-air. The 1x2 top plate with hinge is added afterwards. Step 93: The wedge plate doesn’t fit proper...
